The Last Chance Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama, had some exciting races but one of the most thrilling was the first heat of the girls 4x200m relay.
It was an across-state-lines battle between Clinton High School of Mississippi and Miller Grove High School of Georgia. Miller Grove was in the lead until the final lap of the race. In that final lap, Miller Grove's lead was overtaken by the athlete from Clinton on the home stretch.
The ladies from Clinton finished with new U.S. No. 19 time of 1:43.52 while Miller Grove would come away with second in 1:44.27, which was good for U.S. No. 32.
