The New Jersey Morris County Championships meet last Wednesday produced two of the fastest 3200m results of the season. The race went down to a stride-for-stride battle between Randolph High School (NJ) senior Abby Loveys and West Morris Central High School (NJ) junior Julia Trethaway.
Into the bell lap, the two were stride for stride battling through some traffic. Down the home stretch, it looked like the race was still up for grabs, but Lovyes moved to the outside and took the win by one second, running 10:43.88 to Trethaway's 10:44.12. The times are U.S. No. 2 and 3 respectively.
