Kurt Powdar Puts On A Show In 55mHs At Bulldog Invitational

Oscar Smith High School's (VA) Kurt Powdar had a strong start to his senior season.

Before the New Year Powdar held the No. 1 time in both the 55m dash and 55mH. He no longer holds the top time in the 55m dash -- he's now tied for fourth (6.42) -- but has improved on his US No. 1 time in the 55m Hurdles

This weekend at the Bulldog Invitational at Liberty University Indoor Track Complex in Lynchburg (VA) the
University of Florida signee clocked a 7.20 in the 55mH. He dropped .01 off his previous nation-leading mark of 7.21 which he ran before the New Year on December 8 at the Real Deal High School Classic.

Powdar also competed in the 55m dash running 6.52, the 300m dash running a season-best time of
35.96, and the high jump where he put up a mark of 6 feet 2 inches and the long jump hitting a mark of 20-7.75.

In both the guy and girls rankings, the southeast corner of Virginia otherwise known as the "757" now dominates the top of the 55mH rankings.

Western Branch High School's (VA) Shadajah Ballard holds the current US No. 1 mark with her 7.81 from CNU's High School Showcase.
