We've seen Katelyn Tuohy run fast, dominate, score course records and log the nation's fastest girls cross country 5K of all-time this season.
But on Saturday, the North Rockland (NY) High School junior also proved how mentally strong she was, winning the NYSPHSAA Class A Championships after recovering from a minor knee injury that held her out of Sectionals the week before.
Tuohy won the state's large school final for the second straight year, this time on a difficult Sunken Meadow Park Course, and crossed the line in 17:02.10, which also proved to be the fastest time of the weekend.
So much respect goes out to that effort, as does for many other championship runs this weekend by the nation's best.
