The race for the nation's top performance is on, and this weekend played center stage to a handful of great efforts on cross country courses across the country.
Before we get to this week's National Performer of the Week nominees, let's look back on who took top honors a week ago.
It was a true battle for top honors between two Texans, thought it was Austin St. Stephens High School's Travis Dowd who won National Performer of the Week honors after securing 45 percent of the vote.
Dowd won the Austin Westlake Invitational at 3-miles in a new PR of 14:54.01. The race last week included La Porte's Ryan Schoppe, who grabbed 38-percent of the vote after his 15:13.20 effort at the SFA Lumberjack Invitational.
Congrats to Travis on the big honor.
