Team: Dublin High School, California
Analysis: Dublin was one of our top-ranked teams in 2017 but fell victim to California's depth and didn't make it to NXN. The program finished second in Division 2, scoring 111 points, behind St. Francis Mountain View (57 points), which ended up earning an at-large bid to NXN and placing ninth.
Despite coming up short on its NXN hopes, Dublin had an outstanding season finishing just behind Great Oak at the Clovis Invitational's championship race. The team also finished third in the boys sweepstakes race at the Woodbridge High School Invitational, scoring 168 points. Dublin was again behind Great Oak, which took first with 83 points and Desert Vista High School (AZ), which placed second with 118 points.
In 2018, Dublin will return three of its top five and four of its top seven runners from the 2017 state meet. The team will again face the challenge of making it to NXN with teams like St. Francis, Mountain View, and Great Oak looking strong, but they are strong enough to go toe-to-toe against the best in the state and nation.
