Analysis: There's something to be said about being the No. 1 stick on one of the best teams in the country. Fitzsimmons fits that description in 2018. The junior no doubt had her best season to date in 2017, winning a Colorado Class 5A title, finishing sixth at NXR Southwest and scoring a 30th-place finish at NXN.
But Fitzsimmons will also have to steer the ship for Mountain Vista, which finished sixth at NXN in 2017 and returns its top five from that meet. She scored her best time on grass at NXR Southwest, posting an effort of 17:20.00 and broke 17 minutes at the Woodbridge Classic for 3-miles, finishing in 16:56.70.
