Today, we're pulling back the blinds and digging deep into a comparison of the nation's top returners in the 5K when compared to their spring track seasons. Note: Eligible athletes must have run the 800, 1600 and 3200 in 2018 on the track.
Let's look at some examples.
The second fastest returner is a sophomore from Minnesota. If you look at the year-over-year development of Math & Sciences Academy's Tierney Wolfgram, she's improved immensely in just over a year. Cutting nearly a minute in her 5K time from her eighth-grade to freshman seasons, Wolfgram didn't stop just there. She's cut significant time in the 800m, 1600m and 3200m.
