Horter Throws Down In Final 100m In Boys 1 Mile

Coming off an impressive state title in the 1600m at Ohio's state championships last week, Lakota East (OH) graduate Dustin Horter had an encore performance at Brooks PR on Friday.
He made a pass on the final turn of the boys 1-mile race, scoring a win in 4:04.68.
Ann Arbor Pioneer (MI) junior Nick Foster, who wasn't really in the conversation for much of the race, did his own digging and finished in second in 4:05.50, while Illinois native Clayton Mendez, headed to Stanford in the fall, was third in a career best 4:05.57 -- and that was especially satisfying, considering Mendez was fourth in his own state race.
