Girls 100mH
Why: Rock Canyon High School's Emily Sloan is one of the top hurdlers in the nation. Indoors in the 60mH Sloan ran a US No. 4 all-time time mark of 8.07 at the USATF Indoor Track & Field Championships. Outdoors she's continued her success running well in the 100mH. The University of Oregon signee was the Colorado state champion in the 100mH running a wind-legal PR and US No. 2 time of 13.35. Sloan will also compete in the 300mH. Her best time in that event is 40.60 also from the Colorado State Track and Field Championships. She's also the defending Great Southwest Track and Field champion in both races.
The second best seed time in the field is from DeSoto's Jayla Hollis. Hollis has run a season-best time of 14.00 but was unable to compete in state championships due to transfer eligibility reasons. Don't let that time fool you, though, as Hollis has clocked an all-conditions PR of 13.68 and is one of the best underclassmen hurdlers in the nation.
