Boys 400m
Last achieved in 1982, Darrell Robinson owns this record with a time of 44.69 seconds.
Closest Overall: Jamal Walton, Miramar (FL), 44.99, 2017
Closest in 2018: Jamal Walton, Miramar (FL), 45.42
Prediction: Until last year, this record seemed untouchable. But Walton erased some of our concerns last summer, when he went 44.99 seconds at the Pan American Junior Championships. He then recorded two more extraordinary performances at the World Championships. Someone of Walton's caliber needs to be tested against similar talent. That will come in June and July during championship season. And yet, it will still be a seriously tall order for Walton to down that mark. The odds are better in 2018, but he isn't guaranteed to break it.
