One year ago, Patriot (VA) High then-senior Rachel McArthur threw down a slick 2:06.23 in the 800m to set the all-time mark at the Dogwood Track Classic.
She wasn't finished, though. The Villanova University recruit, now a current freshman with the Wildcats, won the 1600m in 4:55.07, a No. 6 mark at the meet, to claim two wins. Lake Braddock (VA) High graduate Kate Murphy, now at Oregon, owns the meet record in the 1600m in 4:46.99 from 2015.
Of course, McArthur went on to win state titles in the 800m and 1600m before moving on to college with Villanova.
