April will roar into May in the Kansas track and field scene, if the past week's meets are any indication.

Nearly half of the state's top marks for boys and girls - 17 of 36 events - were put up in the past few days, many of them at the Seaman Invitational, a meet that is well-known for producing excellent competition over the years.

Aarika Lister of Leavenworth threw down 24.28 in the 200 meters to grab the top mark in Kansas in that event this season. Lister also won the 100 in 11.92, after running 11.97 in the prelims.
