On Saturday night at the Bullis Bulldog Invitational in Potomac, Maryland, Bullis High School senior Masai Russell ran a new US No. 1 time in the 300mH. Russell's time of 40.70 is nearly two seconds faster than the current US No. 2 time of 42.03 held by Valor Christian High School's Anna Hall.
The recent University of Tenessee signee's time was a new PR. The time would have placed her with the fourth-fastest time at the end of the 2018 season behind only Union Catholic's (NJ) Sydney McLaughlin, Markalah Hart from Miami Northwestern High School (FL), and Shae Anderson from Norco High School (CA).
Russell also competed in the 200m dash, where she placed second by only 0.02 seconds to Girard College Pennsylvania's Thelma Davies who ran 24.45 (0.7).
