Miami Northwestern's (FL) Thomas Burns ran an impressive 300mH race on Saturday at the Bob Hayes Invitational. Burns' time of 36.56 ranks US No. 1 and would have ranked in the top 15 at the end of last year. Burns is one of only two athletes under 35 seconds this year; the other is James Smith from Westwood High School in Arizona. Smith ran 36.95.
