Caitlin Collier ran 2:03.32 last year at Festival of Miles. Collier's time is almost three seconds above the rest of the field. The second-fastest returning time in the county last year came from Friends' Central (PA) Gabrielle Wilkinson. Wilkinson ran 2:06.03 at USATF Junior National Outdoor T&F Championships. Indoor this year she has run 2:09.02 and will be looking to improve once outdoor track starts in the northeast.
One girl who definitely should not be overlooked is Athing Mu from Trenton Track Club (NJ), who has already run faster indoor this year than she did outdoor last year. She currently holds the No. 1 time in the nation indoor with a 2:06.88 from the Armory Youth Championships. Last year's outdoors her fastest time was a 2:07.07.
