This should be a great year for the girls 400m. Arria Minor from Denver East High School (CO) comes in with the fastest 400m time from last year with a 52.05 from the USATF Junior National Outdoor T&F Championships. Minor has dominated the 400m indoor this year, running 53.47 for the second-fastest time by a high schooler.

The only girl to run faster than Minor indoor's this year is Frisco Heritage's Bailey Lear. Lear holds the US No. 1 time indoors this year with her 53.20 from the Texas Tech Open. In last year's outdoor season Lear had to run on JV due to state rules but still managed to run some of the top times in the nation at the end of the season. She won the Brooks PR Invitational  running and won the TTFCA Meet of Champions running the third-fastest returning time of 53.02.

We also can't forget about Kennedy Simon from Westlake (GA), who ran 52.94 to win the Georgia state meet.
