Cameron Cooper ran one of the fastest indoor 800m races ever at last year's University of Kentucky High School Invitational in Lexington, KY. The 2017 Oak Park High School (MI) graduate ran 1:49.82 and would later go on to better that mark at New Balance Indoor Nationals with a 1:49.46.
At this year's UK High School Invitational, the boys 800m should see a great matchup between Brentwood (TN) Track Club's Brodey Hasty, Dustin Horter of Lakota East (Ohio), and James and Jerald Allen from Cleveland NJROTC High School (MO).
