Knocksville Catholic's Jake Renfree ran a great race to take down some of the best distance runners in the south at the Vanderbilt High School Indoor Invitational. Renfree bided his time until the final lap when he struck from behind passing both Fort Worth Christian's Carter Cheeseman and Round Rock Cedar Ridge's Sean Prendeville in the home stretch. Cheeseman and Prendeville had been leading for almost the entire race but Renfree took the win by running a new U.S. No. 6 time of 4:14.65.
Cheeseman finished just behind him in 4:16.02 for U.S. No. 13, while Prendeville placed third in 4:16.19 for U.S. No. 15. Watch the final stretch of the race above and check out more from the Vanderbilt High School Indoor Invitational below.
