Boys Long Jump

Milton (MA) High's Smith Charles enters the long jump with a best of 23-2 indoors, though he's gone 23-6.75 outdoors. The current national leader is Potomac (VA) High's Donovan Louis, who's gone 23-7. 

Shot Put

Innovation Academy's Aiden Felty is the No. 1-ranked competitor in the shot put. Felty has been on fire this season. Last week at the Boston Holiday Challenge he tossed the metal ball a PR of 57 feet, 4.75 inches. Previously this season, he had a four-inch best of 55-5 at the Winter Festival on December 16. - Stephen Mazzone

400m

Milton Elise O'Leary is one of the top seeds in the 400m dash. She has an outdoor best of 56.64, which she did to finish second at the all-state meet in June. Last year she also did 57 seconds for her leg on a 4x400m squad on the indoor surface. - Stephen Mazzone

1000m

Bridget Mitchell of Milton is entered in the 1,000m and the mile; she ranks among the best in both events. Mitchell was second in the mile at last year's meet, clocking 5:01. She brings a top time of 4:56.06. In the 1K, Mitchell has a PB of 2:54.31. She could challenge the meet record in that event. in 2016, Leya Salis of Bedford (NH) set the current mark of 2:53.25. - Stephen Mazzone

DMR and 4x800

The boys 4x800 should be a super competitive race between Bishop Hendricken (RI), which qualified for NXN, and La Salle Academy, which traditionally features some quality distance talents. La Salle Academy should also be a team to watch in the boys DMR.
