The Great Oak (CA) High boys once again proved why they're a team to be reckoned with, winning the Mt. SAC Division I/Division 2 Team Sweepstakes race with a dominant effort across its five, scoring 40 points and averaging 14:54 combined.
The Wolfpack, ranked No. 2 in the Flo50 national rankings, earned their fourth-straight title and outscored second-place Loyola High (76) and Crescenta Valley (117), positioning its top three in the top 10 and all five in its top 15.
Senior Carlos Carvajal, the team's No. 1, finished third overall in 14:42.00, while senior Jacob Korgan was second in 14:47.00 and junior Tyler Tickner was seventh in 14:52.00. Great Oak put its entire scoring team through the line before Loyola's second runner finished in 15th.
Bellarmine College Prep's Meika Beaudoin-rousseau earned his third-straight victory in 2017, posting his top 3-mile time of the season in 14:33.00.
El Camino Real Senior (CA) High star Justin Hazell, who had won Woodbridge and Clovis, finished in eighth-place overall in 14:53.00.
