Why did you come down to the state to compete?

"I was looking to throw over 16.14m which is the Canadian record, I would have liked to throw further, but I'm very upbeat with my performance."

Goals for the outdoor season?

"I would to throw over 16.20m, the Canadian record is 15.88m."

Girls Mile winner Emily Lipari Rosyln HS, NY runs US #1 4:47.44 in the process sets a new personal best

On setting early pace: "Going into the race this was an awesome field, the best girls around. I run my races better when I go out in front and set the pace, I mean I didn't want the pace to go out in 68, that was a mistake, I was hoping to go through in 71-72, then hit the half in 2:25, but I got really anxious in the beginning, and I was like let's do this."

On chances of winning in the last 200m? "I didn't think I was going to win it, but I was pushing hard to break 4:50, I would have been happy with that. I could see Melanie try to pass Corey and I was like if they are making a move in the last 150m then I better too. I put my head down and just pumped my little arms."

Briana Nelson J.L. Mann HS, SC defends NIN 400m title with US #1 54.12. #3 time in meet history

On repeating as champion: "It was my goal coming into the meet; I came here expecting to do it, I was glad I was able to pull it off."

On her US #1 time: "I really pleased, this was my first time running on a banked track, I had a hard time in the trialss, but I got used to it, and pulled it off today."

On going for a three-peat: "Most likely, I had a lot of fun here, I got to see a lot of Boston."

Goals for Outdoor season: "I have never won Nike Outdoor 400m title, I've come close twice. I think it would be cool to win both in the same year."

Times to look forward to Outdoors: "I want to break through the 53's into the 52's."

Goals coming into the meet: "I wanted to be national champ, I was hoping to run a pr, but I am satisfied with the win."

Outlook for outdoor season: "I want to pr, and have fun. I would like to run in the 22's for 200m and 11.1 for the 100m"

Jasmine Sowers Pendleton HS, SC runs US #1 60m Hurdles 8.30 to win first indoor national championships/runs #2 time in meet history

On focus in the blocks: "I wanted to get a good start and run a clean race, and finish first."

On running 8.30: "I am very excited that's my personal best, I'm so excited about that"

On winning this year: "I was 2nd last year, Jackie was great competition for me, this year I had Donique next to me, I knew how to push myself."

Outdoor Goals: "I just want to run fast."

Why come to Boston to run? "I talked about with my coach, since I didn't play basketball this year, we figured we could train and this would be a good experience."

On first race of season & running indoors: "I was a lot of fun, it was different running in front of some many people, it's hard to get good training in where I live because of the snow and cold."

On goals for Outdoors: "Lower my pr; get around 2:00 or a little higher than that. It's hard because it's always windy at meets here in North Dakota. I plan on running at nationals and U.S. Juniors

Why come to Boston to run for the first time indoors? "I just wanted to try somehting new, it's my senior year, my coach and I thought I needed a race." It was a real fun meet, it was much different than outdoors that's for sure, but I had a lot fun."

Training leading up to race" "It's definitely going really well, I'm very fit. I'm not too disappointed in this time as I am looking to peak for outdoors. I think I am good shape right now."

Going after national record, hitting the mile in 5:01: "I was definitely tired, I wanted to negative split, I was still trying to pull off a big last mile, but unfortunately I just didn't have it today. My arms started to get a little heavy, but I am pleased still."

Outdoor season goals: "I want to run well at Nationals in Eugene, and do well at the state meet again." I hope to go 4:10 for the 1500m and go after the national record in the 2mile."

On her time: "It's ok, I was hoping to get better but hey I'm a national champion can't complain about that."

On winning two nationals titles on Sunday: "That was what I was hoping to do."

On being so close to national record: "We had no clue, none of even looked at the clock, we came into the race knowing it was a race for place, not a race for time."- 3rd leg Chelsea Cox

Goal for lead off leg Kate Bergin: "I just suppose to stay in a good place make sure I didn't get to far behind for everyone elsee, I did ok.

On being a national champion: "I'm really excited, I just wanted the pink jacket." - Kate Bergin

Erin Horleman on bringing her team up to the front: "My goal was to move up as much as I could for Chelsea and Jillian, Kate put me in a good position, she held onto the group. I just worked my way up one by one."

On being a two-time national champ: "Yeah I love it, coming up here to do it once was amazing, but to do it twice is unbelievable, it's a good feeling." Erin Horleman

Third leg Chelsea Cox on winning her 2nd title of the weekend: "It feels really good, especialy with these girls, I mean because they are my best friends, it's just some fun to have over the weekend and I am glad we could do some big things this weekend.

Anchor leg Jillian Smith on waiting for her leg and then receiving the baton in 2nd place: "I had no clue what place I was going to get the baton in, I mean we were in 6th or 7th when Chelsea got the baton, and was thinking in my head what I was going to do, then we keep moving up 4th, 3rd, and then we were in 2nd, I was like what do I do now, I just looked up to the girl and tried to catch up to her as soon as possible. I just wanted to run relaxed, make it to the finish line.

On not being prepared to run the race: "We didn't even stretch before the race, we weren't aware there wasn't three heats, we were freaking out before, I am just glad we all finished and didn't pull anything."

Ariane Beaumont-Courteau Montreal, Quebec Canada 13-8 1/4 New Canadian National Record/ wins in NSIC as well

On vaulting in Boston: "This was my last chance to vault for the Canadian record 4.08m, there was no competition in Quebec so I came here. I vaulted in NY but just missed the record, 4.07m."

Goals for outdoor season: "I want to go after the Canadian record of 4.20m, that's what I am shooting for."

Compete in the US again this year: "I don't know, I'll have some comeptition in Quebec and at the Pan-Am games.

Brittany Porter Triple Action HS, GA pops a US #1 and huge personal best 20-7 1/4 sets meet record/ US #7 performance all-time

On her performance: "I jumped my best, I pr'd three times today, my pr and best this season was 19-5 1/2

What was going on through your mind after jumping 20-7 1/4 on your first jump? " I was like wow, I was happy, it motivated me more."

Goal coming into meet: "My goal was to pr, last year when I came I got 2nd, so I was going for first but I was going against so many top dogs that I had jumped against before had jumped further than me."

Outdoor season goals: "I want to pr, my best is 20-3 outdoors."

Blazin Raiders (Eleanor Roosevelt HS, MD) win 4th straight NIN title 3:43.52 meet record

On winning her 3rd national relay title of the weekend: "It feels great, we came in not thinking we weren't going to run well, but just wanted to get our times down to around what we ran at the New Balance meet earlier in the season." - Senior Penn State bound anchor leg Doris Anyanwu

On the outdoor season: "We want to repeat at Penn Relays in the 4x400, running under 3:45 today is faster than we ran last year at Nationals, so we're looking good" - Doris Anyanwu

Being a part of some many national title teams, what does she do with all the rings: "I don't remember how many I've won, it's a lot. I give the rings to my parents and my coaches to say thank you for all their support and hard work. Everyone that has been their for me. I do have one from sophomore year that I keep. -- Doris Anyanwu
