Analysis: Gaughan was 11th at Foot Locker Nationals, second at Foot Locker Northeast, and swept the New England championship season, taking the New England Championships (17:34.11) and the New Hampshire Meet of Champions (17:14.60). It capped off a season in which Gaughan was close to dominate throughout, losing just once, at the Brown Northeast Invitational, though she hit a season PB of 17:12.56. Gaughan closed the season with four straight performances under 18 minutes. 

In the spring, Gaughan earned her second straight victory in the NHIAA Meet of Champions 3200m, going 10:09.49, and then added another victory at the distance at the New England Championship. She was also 11th at Brooks PR 2-mile. Over the indoor season, Gaughan also won the girls junior mile at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, posting a time of 4:52.60.
