What a finish to a high school career.
Alyssa Wilson, the Donovan Catholic (NJ) High graduate and UCLA signee, boomed a 17.70 meter throw (58 feet, 1 inch) in the finals of the Pan American Junior Championships on Friday in Trujillo, Peru, which increased her own outdoor national record by just under a foot.
That bettered her former No. 1 of 57-1.25, which she achieved at the Ocean County Championships (NJ) in May. Wilson also accomplished another indoor mark at 57-5.5 at the Eastern States Championships in February, giving her the top two throws (across indoor and outdoor competition) of all-time.
That came after she bettered Raven Saunder's mark of 56-8.25, which was set in 2014.
