Mikey Brannigan, Hunter Woodhall, and AJ Digby all took home medals Monday at the World Para Athletic Championships in London.
Mikey Brannigan followed up his Paralympic gold in Rio last summer with another gold in the T20 1500m, running a new championship-record time of 3:53.05. He outpaced second-place Cristiano Pereira from Portugal by more than two seconds.
Hunter Woodhall and AJ Digby also took home medals in the T43 400m championship race. Woodhall ran 47.23 to take the silver medal, while Digby ran 47.56 to take home the bronze. Rounding out the field in fourth was American Nick Rogers, who ran 48.72.
"Felt pretty great. It's my first international medal at the adult level," Digby told TeamUSA.org. "It's a whole different ball game up here. Trying to go out and give it my best and I did. I don't think it was the best race I could have done, but it was good enough. You can learn so much going into the future years. That's the biggest thing I learned."
Taking the win in the T43 400m was Johannes Floors from Germany who ran a new championship-record time of 46.67.
The World Para Athletic Championships continues all week long with Brannigan competing again on Friday in the 800m and Woodhall competing in the 200m on Saturday.
