How difficult is it to transfer one skill to the next in the jumps?
We examined two variables when it came to the best boys jumpers in the nation this year: Who's the most versatile athlete over three events and who's the most dominant two-way horizontal jumper in the nation?
What we found on the first question is pretty interesting. It's far from easy to translate horizontal marks to the vertical leap.
Greenwich (CT) High graduate Safir Scott was arguably the most versatile athlete in the country over three events, topping 7 feet in the high jump, 46-4.75 in the triple and 23-3 in the long jump. He posted a top 15 HJ, a top 60 LJ and top 120 TJ.
But beyond Scott, check out our top 200 most versatile athletes in the jumps.
