Jordan Geist had been waiting for a massive haul all season long.
Saturday might have done the trick.
The Saxonburg Knoch (Pa.) High graduate and University of Arizona signee, who finished second in the shot put last season, landed his most impressive throw to date, tossing a massive PR of 76-feet in the shot put to set a new US No. 1 mark and meet record by over a foot.
He also beat the field by nearly a foot.
"I didn't have time to think between shot put and hammer, really," he said.
He wasn't done, though.
He went straight over to the hammer -- his first time throwing the implement -- and added his second national title in another US No. 1 mark of 238-9, obliterating the field by over 20 feet.
"I got the meet record and just trying to make the US team next week at Juniors," he said.
Impressive day. Impressive career.
