WATCH: Maxwell Willis Cruises To Wind-Aided 10.03 At Big 12 Championship Prelims

Baylor University true freshman and Archbishop Carroll (DC) High graduate Maxwell Willis ran the most eye-popping race of the Big 12 Championships so far, cruising to a wind-aided (3.8) 10.03 second win in the 100m prelims in Lawrence, Kansas.

Had the performance been wind legal, Willis' mark would have secured him a Big 12 record.

Willis is hoping for his second Big 12 championship after securing the indoor 200m title in 20.76 seconds.

At Archbishop Carroll, he helped snag a title in the 4x100m relay at New Balance Nationals Outdoor in 2016. The previous year, while at Bowie (MD) High, he became the first sprinter in Maryland history to run sub-21, going 20.55 at The Great Southwest Classic.
