Hunter Woodhall of Syracuse, Utah turned on the afterburners this weekend as he ran a blistering PB of 46.56 at the Davis Invite.  Woodhall's original PB comes from his run at the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games when he ran 46.70 earning himself a bronze medal.  Woodhall's time of 46.56 currently puts him 12th in the country.

More importantly, he is the fastest high schooler to ever run the quarter mile in Utah state history. In Utah, an athlete's mark does not count as a state record unless it was performed in the state of Utah.  In Woodhall's case, that means that neither of his medal placing runs in Rio count towards the state record books.

That's not all Woodhall has been up to this month as he anchored his team's 4x400m team to another Utah State Record.  Woodhall's 45.8 anchor leg helped his team go 3:16.66 at the Grizzly Invite.

In Rio this past summer, Woodhall won a silver medal in the 200m with a 21.12. But because it was not on Utah soil it does not count toward the state record. He said his next goal is to make a run at the Utah State Record of 21.47 in the 200m.
