Fresh off his first CARIFTA Games title in four seasons, Miramar (Fl.) High junior Jamal Walton must have felt confident at the FHSAA Region 4A-4 Championships on Thursday.
Running on a mondo surface at Ansin Sports Complex, Walton blazed to new wind-legal PRs in the 200m and 400m while adding another non-wind legal PR in the 100m dash. Walton ran a US. 2 time of 20.57 seconds on a 2.0 wind reading in the 200m and a US No. 2 mark of 45.70 in the 400m.
He finished fourth in the 100m in a PR of 10.42 seconds while his teammate, Terrance Horne, won in 10.29.
Two weeks ago in Curacao, Walton captured his first CARIFTA title in the 400m for the Cayman Islands.
