On what was another great Saturday, 16 teams ranked in the latest MileSplit National Poll were in action, with 10 of those squads securing titles. Indivdually, course records were set in Virginia by Andrew Colley and Megan Marsico, and in Maryland by Solomon Haile. At least two major titles were decided by a single point. Naperville North's boys nipped York by one in Illinois, whlie Eastlake girls were one better in an upset of Gig Harbor, Washington.
AHSAA (Alabama) State Championships RESULTS POSTED
Mountain Brook swept the 6A team titles. The US #7 Mountain Brook girls placed six runners in the top 10, behind sophomore Marie Demedicis (18:17). Sparkman junior Katie Huston was the overall winner in 18:05. Patrick Gomez (Sr. Auburn) ran 15:50 to win the 6A title.

Arizona State Cross Country Championships RESULTS POSTED
Brian Shrader (Jr., Sinagua) won the latest battle with rival Tim Freriks (Sr., Mingus Union) to cpature the boys 4A DII crown. Shrader clocked 15:15, holding off Freriks by five seconds. Five-time Arizona state track champion Jessica Tonn earned her first individual cross country title, clocking 17:50 to defeat teammate Sarah Penney (18:57) by more than a minute. Thanks to the 1-2 finish by Tonn and Penney, Xavier Prep won the 5A DI team championship.

Delaware State Cross Country Championships RESULTS POSTED
MileSplit US #4 Tatnall again proved that it is not only the top team in Delaware, but one of the best in the country en route to winning its fifth straight Delaware DII State title. Tuning up for the Nike Cross Nationals South Regional in a few weeks, Tatnall placed all of its runners in the top 10, including sweeping the top five places to win with a perfect score of 15 points. Juliet Bottorff (18:29), Haley Pierce (18:39), Katie Buenaga (18:54), Kallie Fehr (19:01) and Molly Parsons (19:14) posted the five best times of the day to lead the assault. Padua, the state's second best girls team, won the D1 crown. Boys D1 winner Greg Morrin (Sr., St. Mark's) posted the top mark of 16:14.
GHSA (Georgia) State Championships RESULTS POSTED
US #3 Collins Hill dominated the 5A field, taking 5 of the top 9 places, to win with just 19 points. Amanda Winslow placed first in 18:00 to lead the charge. Sydney Marshall (Chattahoochee) finished second in 18:32. 5A champion Taylor Lord (Chapel Hill) 15:48, ran the fastest time of the day.

Illinois State Cross Country Championships RESULTS POSTED
In the snow in Peoria, US # 5 Naperville North slipped past #4 York by a point , 84-85. Lake Park's Lindsay Flanagan recorded the best girls' time of the day, 16:54. US #5 Geneva totalled just 51 points to win the AAA crown.

Sherwood senior Solomon Haile cruised to a course record 15:43 to capture the Maryland State 4A cross country title. Walt Whitman junior Andrew Palmer finished 40 seconds back of Haile's record romp to place second. Anna Bosse (So., Walter Johnson) ran 19:38 for the 4A win, the top time of the day.

MSHSAA (Missouri) State Championships RESULTS POSTED
Class 4A girls: Lee's Summit West took the crown with five girls under 20 minutes, and a 51-second spread; Emily Sisson (Jr., Parkway Central) 17:57 claimed individual honors. Potosi senior Jacob Swearingen topped all boys with a time of 15:38. Lee's Summit West swept the team titles with the boys defeating St. Louis University High, 53-87.

Nevada State Cross Country Championships RESULTS POSTED
Galena senior Bryan Tibaduiza won his second straight Class 4A title, winning in 16:22. Wade Meddles (Jr., Sierra Lutheran) ran the top time of the meet, winning the 2A race by more than a minute in 16:13. Meddles narrowly missed the course record of 16:12 set by Joe Parker (Reno) in 2004. Kelsey Smith (Jr., South Tahoe) posted the top girls perfromance of the meet, clocking 18:59 to win the 4A crown.
New England Cross Country Championships RESULTS POSTED
Mark Feigen (East Greenwich) 15:47.1 won the boys title, as RI boys take top three spots. Feigen finally topped Westerly standout Andrew Springer, who was second in 15:48, as eight runners cracked the 16-minute mark.
Freshman sensation Abbey Leonardi (Kennebunk, ME) won in 18:12.7 with fellow freshman Emily Durgin (Boony Eagle) 18:15 as the runner-up. MileSplit US #9 Danbury boys repeated as team champion. Glastonbury girls came out on top

New Mexico State Cross Country Championships RESULTS POSTED
Cibola won the Class 5A boys crown despite a 1-2 finish from third-place Eldorado brothers Bryce (15:07) and Kevin Palmer (15:10). In a showdown of two of the nation's top teams, US #2 Albuquerque Academy clipped #15 Los Alamos, 31-34. AA withstood a 1-2 finish by Los Alamos' Kyle Pittman (15:19) and Gareth Gilna (15:31) to claim the championship. Albuquerque also grabbed the girls win behind Clara Milne's meet best time of 17:55.
NYSPHSAA (New York) State Champs RESULTS POSTED
Running at Sunken Meadow State Park, Alex Hatz of Fayetteville-Manlius held off Alex Leuchanka of Shenendehowa for the individual title as both runners dip under 16:00 on the wet and sloppy day, but Shen is too tough for FM, beats them 30-47. US #2 FM girls win big as expected, beating Saratoga 22-48 as Courtney Chapman led her FM team with a win over a very deep field. Rosly junior Emily Lipari won the Class A race in 18:18, the second fastest time of the day behind Chapman (18:15).

VHSL (Virginia) State Championships RESULTS POSTED
Both course records fell. Andrew Colley clocked 15:02, bettering the mark of 15:03 set by Alan Webb. Megan Marsico's 17:38 was 10 seconds better than previous mark set by Catherine White. Thomas Porter outkicked Ben Dejarnette over the last 400 meters for the AAA win. Midlothian won its 4th straight title. Jamestown, led by Colley, placed 3 in the top 6 for the win. Oakton boys were also impressive in victory. Stacey Nobles posted a surprise win over Kathleen Lautzenheiser. Blacksburg girls defeated Hidden Valley by virtue of a sixth runner placement. Clarke County boys won the team title, led by individual champion Ben Veilleux. George Mason halted Clarke County girls' streak.

Washington State Cross Country Championships
Mack Young (15:18) won the dual for bragging rights as the top finisher, defeating fellow junior Shane Moskowitz (Central Kitsap) by three seconds. A pair of upset winners highlighted the 4A races. Mead boys ekked past favorite Jackson, 98-106, while Eastlake girls slipped by Gig Harbor by a point, 96-97. Michael Miller won the boys 3A race in 15:18, but MileSplit US #1 North Central, led by Andrew Kimpel (15:25), took the next four places to easily outdistance runner-up Seattle Prep, 24-74. Alyssa Andrews (Sr., Gig Harbor) recorded the fastest time of the day, capturing the 4A race in 18:00.
