Here is a quick review of the national championship action that occurred on Friday. On the girls side the biggest story has to be the national record in the 5K. A 15:55.75 all alone, Brie Oakley becomes the first high school girl to run under 16 minutes indoors. She also now ranks 5th all-time went including outdoor performances. You can read more about her historic performance here. We'll see her once again for the two mile championship as she goes for another title.

There were two other national titles won Friday in New York as well. In the distance medley relay North Rockland (NY) repeated as national champions running an 11:41.04 US#2 time. That was started by Alexandra Harris with a 3:30.42 to Sofia Housman 57.76, then Haleigh Morales 2:22.61 and it was finally finished off with an impressive 4:50 anchor by Katelyn Tuohy.

In the high jump Summit Christian Academy (MO) senior Carlie Queen cleared 5-10.75 US#3 for her first national title. Queen was sixth at Nationals last year as a junior clearing 5-5.25.

There were also plenty of impressive Emerging Elite performances, you can catch some interviews from those events through the videos link above, and winner highlights can be found here
