Reebok Coach Wood Invitational
Gainesville, Ga ONSITE COVERAGE RESULTS POSTED
Amanda Winslow cruised to victory in 17:31 as MileSplit US #3 Collins Hill claimed seven of the top 13 spots to win the Championship Race at the Reebok Coach Wood Invitational. Teammates Nicky Adande and Vicky Winslow were second and third, respectively, in 18:22. Collins Hill topped North Gwinnett, 22-81. Sydney Marshall (Chattahoochee) ran the fourth fastest time of the day (18:30) in the girls' varsity race. Taylor Lord (Chapel Hill) led a trio of boys under 16 minutes in winning the Championship Race in 15:37. Charlie Sparks (Columbus) was second (15:45) and Mike McClay (Dacula) placed third (15:56). Collins Hill claimed the boys team title as well.

Lower Merion seniors Neal Berman and Ben Furcht (Photo by Ryan Comstock for PennTrackXC.com) both broke the five-year-old course record at Rose Tree Park by five four seconds. Set in 2003 by Cardinal O'Hara start Steve Hallinan at 15:32, but 15:27.63 by Berman and 15;27.99 by Furcht, represented the first time under 15:30 on the well-traveled course. The three points also went a long way toward capturing the team title for the Aces, giving them a five point edge over Strath Haven, and 19 over Penncrest.
In the girls race, Haverford Township was led by the 6th place finish of freshman Sophia Meehan in 19:29.86. They held out by six points over Conestoga and seven points over Strath Haven with 65. Radnor's Kelyn Freedman, a junior, won the race in 18:48.67.

Juliet Bottorff (17:34) led three teammates under 18 minutes as MileSplit US #5 Tatnall grabbed five of the top seven places for the easy win. Haley Pierce (17:45) and Katie Buenaga (17:52) were second and third, respectively for Tatnall.

Two of Virginia's best in Anneka Wilson of The Potomac School (MileSplit Feature Story coming Monday) and Ben Dejarnette (MileStat photos by Ted Plunkett) of Atlee were winners at Georgetown Prep with Wilson setting a meet record time with a 17:45 5K personal best performance, while Atlee's Ben Dejarnette rolled as well to shatter the meet record time in 15:04 and help his team to a convincing victory with 65 points. Huge feats for both as Wilson became the first high school girl to break 18 minutes, while Dejarnette dropped the old meet record by a whopping 30 seconds.

Reed Connor went 14:56 followed by teammate Drew Butler (15:20), and the 1-2 punch was more than enough to lead MileSplit US #8 The Woodlands (61 points) to the team title over West Plains (140) and Mountain Brook (154). Patrick McGregor (Sr., Hoover, AL) took third in 15:26 as 24 boys in all broke 16 minutes on the swift University of Arkansas XC course. Greenhill sophomore Chelsey Sveinsson (17:10) outpaced Tara Upshaw (17:34) and Madeline Morgan (17:40) to claim the girls crown. Morgan led three runners in the top seven as MS US#10 Mountain Brook coasted to the team win with 44 points.

Freshman phenom Futsum Zeinasellasse (North Central) runs 15:02 to win the Brebeuf (IN) Regional. Carmel (IN) sweeps team titles. Freshman-sophomore combo of Renee Wellman (18:18) and Alex Chitwood (18:27) sweep top two places to lead the Carmel girls.
