The Yale Track Classic is notorious for loaded 3K races and the 2017 edition of the event was no different. The top boys section featured US #1 ranked Jeremy Hoyne-Grosvenor, who ran 8:32.71 in December, plus Foot Locker finalist and No. 1 ranked 3200m runner Dalton Hengst, 9:01 two miler Nick Dahl, and Connecticut state cross country champion Zakeer Ahmad. The race lived up to the hype as Hengst, Dahl and Ahmad battled to the three fastest times in the nation this year: 8:28.51, 8:30.62 and 8:32.11. Seven of the top 10 3K times in the nation this year were recorded at the Yale Track Classic.
