Watch epic finish line battle at NXN South between Texas stars Sam Worley, Reed Brown, Daniel Bernal and Daniel Viegra.
The Darkhorses
Sam Worley | New Braunfels Canyon, TX | SENIOR
Saucony Flo50 Ranking: #9
The University of Texas commitment has won three straight battles to the finish in as many weeks and, accordingly, has been awarded MileSplit's Kick of the Week twice and Tasty Race of the Week once. With crowns at the Texas 6A State Championship, NXN South Regional and Foot Locker South, Worley has shown he has the wheels in the homestretch. But can he hang for the duration of a race at this level? Portland is a lot different than Texas. He suffered through illness at the end of last season but still qualified for NXN, where he gutted out a 75th place finish. Trust that this year will be much different.
Reed Brown | Southlake Carroll, TX | SENIOR
Saucony Flo50 Ranking: #10
The Oregon commit was 14th at NXN and 16th at Foot Locker Nationals in 2015. This year, he was just fourth at the Texas 6A state meet then placed runner-up at NXN South and sixth at Foot Locker South. However, we get the impression that Brown is running just hard enough to advance as he taking on the tough NXN/Foot Locker double again. He's also the defending indoor national champion for the mile and with 4:04 speed, he has one of the fastest kicks in the field.
