Sec. 2 Suburban Council Championships results and coverage
After more than a month off from major race action, the No. 2 ranked Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks returned with a victory at the tough Sec. 2 Suburban Council Championships. No. 7 ranked Kelsey Chmiel led the charge by breaking Nicole Blood's 2004 course record in 16:41.7.
Blood's prior record was 16:41.9.
Peyton Engborg (7th, 18:04), Keellyn Cummings (9th, 18:09), Carly Vetter (10th, 18:10) and Mari Ellen Penzer (17th, 18:25) filled out the rest of the Blue Streaks' top five. Saratoga Springs won with 44 points over bubble team Shenendehowa's 67 points.
