The varsity athletes get most of the love, but we wanted to see who were the top JV athletes and teams around the state. Power programs like Niceville, Bolles, and Winter Park are loaded with depth, but it's the Eagles, who own the top spot in our team scores with their #8-14 runners averaging a time of 21:01.66 and a 1-5 split of just 36 seconds! Coach LaFollette Says:
"Our JV, or as I prefer to call them backup varsity, girls (and boys) have been running very well this season. They are composed of two senior leaders, Diana LaFollette and Mackenzie Shinnick, and then mostly freshmen and sophomores. We are fortunate to have middle school cross country in Okaloosa County so most have already been running for 2-3 years but I am very pleased with how well they are adjusting to racing the additional 1 mile in high school."
"The JV girls all want to be on varsity so the varsity girls know that if they don't keep improving that they are likely to lose their spot."
