Matthew Meinke owns the fastest 5K time by a freshman boy so far this season: 15:48.98, which was good enough to win the Jamie Block Memorial Invitational in Wisconsin. He's not scared of competition, as he was the only eighth grader to race the Freshman Boys 2 Mile Championship at New Balance Nationals Outdoor where he ran 10:09 for 14th place. He enters high school with PBs of 4:36.13 for 1600m and 9:43.02 for 3200m.
