Athlete: Allie Schadler
Year: 2017
School: Rio Rico, AZ
Analysis: Allie Schadler broke Dani Jones' one-year-old Arizona state meet course record by more than 20 seconds last year when she won the DIII title in 17:04.5. Last cross country season also saw her run a PB of 16:47.70 for 5K and win her section at the Mt. SAC Invitational. But Schadler -who placed 17th at NXN as a sophomore- suffered from a bout of plantar fasciitis and was unable to compete in the cross country post-season.
This spring, Schadler ran top times of 10:16.72 for 3200m, 4:49.50 for the mile and 2:10.11 for 800m. A healthy Schadler will be in the mix with the top group at whichever national meet she chooses to pursue.
