We complete our tour of the top teams in each state with the Colorado girls. Broomfield claimed the 5A state title last, though it was 4A Air Academy that garnered most of the attention. No Colorado team, however, could manage better than Air Academy's fourth at NXR-SW.
So, for Colorado, this year represents an opportunity to climb back into a position where they are sending teams to NXN. It won't be easy, but it's also far from out of the question.
One thing to note before we start is that Broomfield has picked up Madison Mooney and lost McKenzie Gaines from last year's team. Both are quality runners, but Mooney--who is rapidly becoming one of the top middle distance types in the entire region--figures to give the Eagles a little edge they didn't have last year. The rankings shown below will not reflect that.
