Last year, 3A Region 2 claimed three of the top six places at state. Those teams were Alamosa, Lamar, and Salida. All three teams should be competitive again this year, despite some big losses to graduation at Lamar and Salida. And, the region picks up The Classical Academy, Pueblo Central, and Woodland Park--all down from the 4A ranks.
Needless to say, this region figures to be very competitive once again this year.
Missing from last year's 3A Region 2 are Buena Vista and Vanguard, both of which were beamed down to 2A.
