The IAAF officially ratified Vashti Cunningham's U-20 World Record in the high jump on Thursday, May 19.
The 18-year-old cleared 6-6.25 to win the USATF Indoor Track & Field Championships in March. That mark is the best ever completed by an athlete under the age of 20 in the world.
Cunningham, a senior at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, went on to win the IAAF Indoor World Championship with a mark of 6-5.25. She is the youngest athlete to win an IAAF indoor world title.
The Nike pro's next competition is the Pre Classic on May 28 in Eugene, Ore. The event is part of the IAAF Diamond League.
