Fast 800s Rule The Weekend
A number of quick half-milers came out to play this weekend.
- NBNI 800m champion Michael Slagowski of Rocky Mountain, Idaho broke 1:50 for the first time in a big way: 1:48.7 at the Pulse Invitational. He is the only prep under 1:50 this year.

- Austin Tamagno (pictured above) of Brea Olinda ran U.S. No. 2 1:50.93 to win the Arcadia Invitational over Willie Hall of Davis. His green and yellow singlet bears a striking resemblance to his future Ducks uniform...!
- US #2 ranked Cassie Durgy led wire-to-wire in the 800m at the Arcadia Invitational, but the Huntington Beach senior -- a UCLA commit -- fell to a late charge from Jacquelyn Hill, 2:10.00 to 2:10.27. Hill, a junior, now ranks US #5.
