National Weekend Rundown For April 9

Noah Lyles Smokes Outdoor Debut

Noah Lyles of T.C. Williams, Va. made his 100m season debut at the Arcadia Invitational in California with the ninth-fastest time in prep history: 10.17 (+1.2). The Florida-bound star already ranks No. 4 All-Time, thanks to a 10.14 clocking at the USATF Jr. Nationals last year.

Just over an hour later, he ran 20.48 (+0.0) to set a new meet record and U.S. No. 1 mark. He won by more than a full second, as Cunningham of Rancho Verde took runner-up in 21.68. His best time is 20.18.
