Khalifa St. Fort Wins in Her Professional Debut
Just a week after turning professional, Khalifa St. Fort has a 1-0 record in her career. Representing Trinidad & Tobago, she won the under-20 women's 100m final at the CARIFTA Games in 11.40 seconds. St. Fort -- a high school senior based in Florida and coached by Ato Boldon -- ran the time into a 2.7-meters-per-second headwind. One calculator converts that time to 11.17 seconds without wind, which would be a PR for St. Fort.
Also at the CARIFTA Games, Paul Robeson senior Amanda Crawford took second in the under-18 girls' 400m. Representing Grenada (and competing in Grenada for the first time), she finished in 54.16 seconds, which earned her silver, a PR and a US #4 time for the 16-year-old senior.
Floridian/Cayman Islander Jamal Walton ran 46.23 seconds for second in the U20 boys' 400m. That's a US #1 mark for the Everglades sophomore.
