A week ago, we asked: Who is the fastest sprinter in the country? in Who's #1.
The Jimmy Carnes Indoor Meet in Florida gave us some hints this weekend, as the top two returning 100m runners in the nation faced off over the 55m Dash: Khalifa St. Fort of St. Thomas Aquinas and Alfreda Steele of Pasco High School.
St. Fort, a UCLA commit, owns a PR of 11.19 and lost only to Candace Hill last year. Steele owns a PR of 11.33; in their only head-to-head race at the 2015 Golden South Classic 100m, Steele placed fourth while St. Fort won.
Saturday marked St. Fort's career debut on an indoor track. She zoomed to victory in the 200m (24.99) before lining up against Steele in the 55m not once, but twice!
