The Texas A&M Indoor Classic is Ridiculously Loaded

Field

Not to be outdone by the sprints, the field events this weekend feature two World Youth champions and a Pan Am junior champ.

Adrian "Tripp" Piperi is making his season debut in the shot put. The junior from The Woodlands won this meet with a 58-11 toss last year, and won the World Youth title in July. There are three boys in the country over sixty feet in the shot this winter.

Though California's Davis is entered in the hurdles, she shines in the jumps. At World Youths, she won the long jump and took second in the triple. Her indoor PBs in those events are 19-10 and 40-2, respectively, marks that could get broken this weekend. The triple jump begins Friday night at 6:00, while the long starts Saturday afternoon at 3:00.

In the long jump, Davis will have a spicy matchup against Samiyah Samuels. The senior from Cypress Springs, Texas jumped 17-8.25 for second place at this meet last year and went on to win the event at Pan Am juniors.
