Saucony Flo50 US top 25 individuals: #18 Courtney Wayment (Davis/5A)
Wayment is the favorite. She's never won a state championship in track or cross, finishing sixth, fifth, and ninth at the state meet the last three Octobers. But that was all before she transferred from Northridge to Davis in the middle of last school year. Despite losing to now-teammates Aubrey Argyle and Ally Geisler at Sugarhouse in 2014, the senior has been the Darts' No. 1 runner nearly all fall.
Check out our podcast with Wayment, where she dishes on her most embarrassing race moment ever. Spoiler alert: it's really embarrassing.
If Wayment falters, look out for Isabella James of West, Argyle, and Geisler. They've all beaten Wayment this fall, though she hasn't lost since trailing Argyle and Geisler in a blanket finish at the Davis County Championship a month ago.
