Bob Gourley's National Weight Throw Rankings
MileSplit is proud to announce the addition of Bob Gourley's National Weight Throw Rankings. For many years now, Bob has added a lot of extra excitement to the weight throw, an event that gets little prestige nationally. The weight throw is held at the high school level in only a few states, but the performances that are produced on a yearly basis are fantastic. A few times a month we will be posting up Bob's national lists for the event, and we are proud to have Bob on board with the MileSplit Network.

Coward (TN) Loses Finals, but Runs U.S. #1 in Prelims
Jacquelyn Coward (TN), the phenom hurdler out of Tennessee, had been on a tear this season thus far, posting a few great marks along the way. Coward however ran 8.43 in the prelims, which currently ranks her U.S. #1 in the event.
In the same meet Coward won the 400m dash with a great time of 56.37, winning with the top time by nearly one and a half seconds.

The Week Ahead
The last full week of January promises to be a good one, led by the excitement surrounding the Reebok Boston Indoor Games. On Saturday, two of the most star studded fields this season will be assembled for elite high school boys and girls mile races. Both races promise to be fast and furious!
The other big meet of the weekend is the Virginia Tech Invitational, which will feature many of the top east coast athletes, with a central location focusing on Virginia and North Carolina. This meet should produce some of the better marks in every event nationally.
MileSplit will once again bring you the best coverage nationally this week, so make sure to check back every day with new stories, news items and results. Good luck to everyone this week!
