MileSplit All-American Team - Boys 300m/400m Hurdles Presented by New Balance
Norman Grimes ranks U.S. No. 1 in the 300m hurdles, per his 36.10 to win the Texas Relays. He recently won the USATF World Youth Trials and will represent Team USA at both the IAAF World Youth Championships and the Pan-American Junior Championships.
1. Rai Benjamin (Mount Vernon, NY - Sr.) - No one in the United States has proved capable of running with Benjamin in his signature event this year, the 400m hurdles. His only loss has come at the heels of Jamaican Marvin Williams at the Penn Relays. Benjamin's U.S. No. 1 49.97 to win New Balance Nationals stands as the New York state record and U.S. No. 8 All-Time.
2. Taylor McLaughlin (Scotch Plains, NJ - Sr.) - McLaughlin swept through New Jersey this spring and took runner-up honors to Benjamin at New Balance Nationals Outdoor. His time of 50.20 ranks U.S. No. 2 for 400m hurdles.
3. Norman Grimes (Canyon, TX - Jr.) - The Texas state champion for 300m hurdles found immediate success upon moving up to the 400m hurdles this spring. He won the Caribbean Scholastic Invitational, placed runner-up at NBNO, runner-up at USATF Jr. Nationals amongst collegiate runners and won the USATF World Youth Trials.
